The Gwinnett County Public Library (GCPL) is proud to announce that we are working with Helping Mamas to host the “Stuff the Van” diaper drive on December 7, 2021. The event will take place at our Peachtree Corners Branch from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Donations of new diapers in any size are welcome and appreciated.
Helping Mamas is a nonprofit dedicated to helping mamas by providing resources, and collecting and distributing essential child and baby items from their baby supply bank located in Norcross, GA.
Since February 2021, Helping Mamas has held 6 distribution drives to help mamas in need at GCPL’s Food Distribution events.
Toddlers and infants use between 8-12 diapers each day. On average, low-income families experience a diaper gap of 50 diapers a month. This diaper gap is the difference between the number of diapers the child needs and the number of diapers their family can provide. The lack of enough diapers can also take a toll on families when it comes to daycare since most childcare facilities require at least one day’s supply worth of diapers to accept a child into their care.
