Have you been working on your family history and need to find your great grandmother’s obituary? Or maybe there was a write-up of your championship basketball game in 1994 and you are looking to show your children about a great event in your life.

Whatever your newspaper needs, the Gwinnett County Public Library’s Collins Hill branch has you covered.  We have a state of the art microfilm reader that can not only render near perfect duplications, but also can adjust and clarify newspaper images that are nearly impossible to see otherwise.  What’s more, you can print out your copies, save them to your thumb drive, or email them to yourself as an attachment.

You can come by and use our microfilm reader to find the information yourself or you can put in a research request with our Customer Call Center at 770.978.5154

We carry the following publications. If you are interested in historical newspapers outside of the Atlanta area search for the local library in the area where the newspaper was published.  You can then contact that library and complete a research request of their holdings.

Other places to find historic newspapers include:
Digital Library of Georgia’s Historic Newspapers
Library of Congress’ Chronicling America
Google’s Newspaper Project
