This year, a stunning installation of local and international photographs was displayed throughout our Duluth branch from Saturday, October 12, 2024, to Friday, November 15th, 2024.
This year’s theme was “Fortitude”. During the summer, we invited submissions that delved into personal strength, resilience, and growth with unique perspectives through photography. For the 2024 Exhibition, our entries are juried by Makeda Lewis, an Atlanta-based artist and independent curator working as a program coordinator. She has curated for MINT Gallery, Dashboard, and Swan Coach House Gallery and exhibited her work across the southeast.

Juror:
This year’s entries are juried by Makeda Lewis. She is an artist, emerging independent curator, and program coordinator living and working out of Atlanta. She has been the Program and Outreach Coordinator for the Atlanta Center for Photography for the past 2.5 years. She has curated for MINT Gallery, Dashboard, and Swan Coach House Gallery and exhibited her work across the southeast.
Juror Talk:
The “Fortitude” theme this year brought hundreds of entries from artists worldwide. Curated by local Atlanta-based artist and independent curator/program coordinator Makeda Lewis, this exhibition is a visual journey. The Gwinnett County Public Library has Learning Labs with many free resources to help photographers, including mirrorless digital cameras, iMac stations with Creative Suite, studio lights, and more. Access to our Learning Labs is free with a library card. Out-of-county patrons can purchase a full-access library card for $40 a year.
