Income Tax Return Filing Deadline: Monday April 15, 2019


The IRS has launched a “Get Ready” communications and outreach campaign to educate as many taxpayers as possible about steps they can take in December regarding changes that could affect their ability to timely file their tax returns and get their refunds as quickly as possible.


VITA/TCE Locator Tool

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.

The Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program offers free tax help for all taxpayers, particularly those who are 60 years of age and older, specializing in questions about pensions and retirement-related issues unique to seniors. The IRS-certified volunteers who provide tax counseling are often retired individuals associated with non-profit organizations that receive grants from the IRS.

VITA @ Gwinnett Technical College

Gwinnett Technical College and the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program are partnering for the 11th year in a row for free tax assistance and preparation in the community. This event takes place Thursday, February 1, 2018 through Tuesday, April 17, 2018.

The United Way partners with H&R Block to offer free tax services for those who make $64,000 or less annually.

AARP Tax-Aide Site Locator

When looking for a TCE site keep in mind that a majority of the TCE sites are operated by the AARP Foundation’s Tax Aide program. To locate the nearest AARP TCE Tax-Aide site between January and April use the AARP Site Locator Tool or call 888-227-7669.

Gwinnett County partners with VITA and AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program to provide free tax assistance for the community.


GCPL Branches do not receive federal or state tax forms & publications for distribution. We have reproducible copies of select forms for customers to photocopy and all tax forms are available online in PDF format for printing or saving to your own computer.
