GCPL provides access to a wide range of premium resources that you can use to gather information on a variety of tax related topics.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.
The Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program offers free tax help for all taxpayers, particularly those who are 60 years of age and older, specializing in questions about pensions and retirement-related issues unique to seniors. The IRS-certified volunteers who provide tax counseling are often retired individuals associated with non-profit organizations that receive grants from the IRS.
The United Way partners with H&R Block to offer free tax services for those who make $64,000 or less annually.
When looking for a TCE site keep in mind that a majority of the TCE sites are operated by the AARP Foundation’s Tax Aide program. To locate the nearest AARP TCE Tax-Aide site between January and April use the AARP Site Locator Tool or call 888-227-7669.
GCPL Branches do not receive federal or state tax forms & publications for distribution. We often print copies of select forms for customers to photocopy and all tax forms are available online in PDF format for printing or saving to your own computer. Please refer to the resources listed in this Library Guide for information on how to find and obtain tax forms.

You can order the tax forms, instructions and publications you need to complete your 2021 tax return here. The IRS will process your order and ship it by U.S. mail when the products become available. Most products should be available by the end of January 2022.
