Describe your educational background?
I earned a degree in Special Education from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and my Master of Library Science from Kent State. Then I had the good fortune to work with one of the finest children’s librarians in Ohio; Kathy East.
What inspired you to pursue a career in the library?
I like solving problems and connecting people either with services or resources. I also like the variety of work; no two days are the same!
How would you describe your position to others?
It is multifaceted; you are a balanced combination of building manager, staff mentor, community liaison, trainer, public servant and guide.
What do you enjoy most about your job at GCPL?
My staff…without a doubt. They make things happen, they are a joy to lead and mentor. There is so much talent here, I am always amazed.
What is your all time favorite book?
Yikes! Anything by Kate DiCamillo
What are 3 things you enjoy doing outside of work?
Watch old movies on TCM, read, listen to music…all kinds of music.
What is something exciting about you that most people don’t know?
I sang with Peter, Paul and Mary at Blossom Music Center.
