Describe your educational background?
M.A. in counseling, MLIS

 

What inspired you to pursue a career in the library?
I worked at the New Orleans Public Library as an adult literacy instructor. I wanted to become I librarian and become a specialist in helping customers find and process information. With a background in adult education, I thought I could specialize in user education in the field of librarianship. I enrolled in the tuition reimbursement program offered by my employer and later earned the MLIS from LSU.

 

How would you describe your position to others?
I am manager of very active, exciting library branch in Grayson, Georgia. I am responsible for the overall operation of the branch.

 

What do you enjoy most about your job at GCPL?
I enjoy helping customer find information and teaching them how to use our evolving resources.

 

What is your all time favorite book?
Root and Branch: Charles Hamilton Houston, Thurgood Marshall, and the Struggle to End Segregation.

 

What are 3 things you enjoy doing outside of work?
I workout at the gym, write, and read in all genres, fiction and nonfiction.

 

What is something exciting about you that most people don’t know?
I am a low-keyed author with short fiction and articles published in various literary journals.
