Cubelets? Do you know what they are? The West Chapter of the Friends of the Library never heard of them until a few months ago.

The robotic blocks are a fast and easy way to inspire kids to become better thinkers. Each kit includes Drive, Flashlight, Distance, Brightness, Passive and Battery blocks which provides hours and hours of continuous play.

With the help of NAPA Auto Parts and the People Drinking Coffee group of Norcross, the West Chapter FOL secured $1530 for the Cubelet kit to donate to GCPL.

NOR branch manager Meg Wilson explains how the Cubelets are used.”We do lots of outreach to schools, in the community and Assisted Living places where we’d like to be able to use the Cubelets. We are steadily increasing our Outreach, and are now partnering with several apartment communities nearby as well as the Norcross Co-op to regularly serve school-age kids at their facilities. The Cubelets are a perfect match for those.”
