Photoshop First FridaysFebruary 2

Join us on the first Friday of each month at the Five Forks Learning Lab to learn some useful techniques in Photoshop. Each month will cover a different topic, ranging from subtle retouching to dramatic artistic effects. If you have a laptop with Photoshop installed (any version will do), please feel free to bring it. Library computers will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lauren Willig & Deanna Raybourn Book TalkFebruary 10

Meet Lauren Willig, the New York Times bestselling author and RITA award-winning romance novelist of the Pink Carnation series and several standalone works of historical fiction, including The Ashford Affair and the collaborative novel, The Forgotten Room (with Karen White and Beatriz Williams).  She will be joined by fellow romance writer and RITA award winner Deanna Raybourn.  Raybourn is the author of the Lady Julia Grey series.  Her latest novel, A Treacherous Curse, is the third in her Veronica Speedwell series.

This class will go over basic setup and operating instructions for filmmaking equipment available the Learning Lab, including DSLR camera, microphone, lighting, and screens. If you are interested in creating videos but don’t know where to begin, this is the class for you!

 

Stuffed Animal/Baby Doll Storytime and SleepoverFebruary 17

Bring in your stuffed animal or doll to enjoy a wild pajama party at the library! We will share bedtime stories and songs before tucking your friend in bed for the night. Come back to pick up your friend on Sunday (2/18) between 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM and see pictures of all the fun they had!
