Personal Identification Number
All library cardholders must know their PIN to check out materials, use library computers, or discuss their account with library staff.
What is a PIN?
Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) is the number you selected when you created your library account. It is a 4-digit number that is your password for accessing your account. Your PIN is required to check out materials, log into library computers, or discuss your account with staff. You will need your PIN to access many of the library's online services, including online access to your account and telephone renewal.
What if I don't know my PIN?
Present a valid ID to any library staff member or, if you have an email address listed in your account you can have your PIN emailed to you. If you wish to change your PIN, please speak to a library staff member.
Can I authorize someone else to use my card?
Accounts no longer have Authorized Users with full account access. However, you may designate someone to pick up items you place on hold. Please speak with a staff member to add someone to your account with this privilege. Only those who have both your card number and PIN will be able to check out additional materials or have access to your account.
What if I don't have a library card, or if I use a card that belongs to friend or family member?
It is easy to get a library card of your own!
