Teen Summit 2012 is a conference-style event that brings together middle and high school aged teens, their parents or mentors, and local community organizations to explore social issues and topics of interest to Gwinnett County’s young adults.
Kick off the day with some complimentary snacks and a lively performance by Laughing Matters, Atlanta's leading provider of interactive entertainment. This hilarious program uses improv comedy as a teaching tool to explore the value of creative conflict resolution.
Lively Teens Talk Back discussion panels will allow young adults to share their insights on social issues ranging from bullying to what it's like to live as a teen in a world without walls. Small group workshops on self-defense, safe dating, teens and the law, and other relevant topics will address current social concerns in a teen-friendly manner.
And don't miss the Teen Summit special closing performance by Tyrin "Fresh P" Niles! This sixteen-year-old Atlanta native appears on Tyler Perry's "Meet the Browns" and recently co-starred in ABC's "A Smile as Big as the Moon." Fresh P will wrap us up with his own brand of positive hiphop including the anti-bullying song, "Have a Good Time."
