Gifts from Vendors

The disposition of gifts given to the library system or individual staff members by vendors must be carefully considered and handled in such a way that there is no perceived obligation or conflict of interest in the eyes of the public or the vendor. Gift items will be handled as follows:

• Staff members may accept gifts that are given specifically to them if they are used for work purposes and have a value that does not exceed the IRS limit of $25.00 for business gifts.
• Consumable gifts, for example, flowers or food, are also acceptable.
