Naming of Branches Policy

Branches will be named for the geographical area in which they are located, or which they serve. Parts of the county with a mailing address that does not reflect the service area, or partsknown by a name which is not used by the post office, may instead be named for a historical site, geographical feature, or the commonly used name.
The Library Board can, by Board action, honor individuals (living or deceased) who, or organizations that have:
- made significant financial contributions to the library, or have had contributions made in their name,
and/or
- made outstanding or distinctive contributions to the Gwinnett County community by promoting and preserving the quality of life elements that are in keeping with the nature and mission of the library,
by naming buildings, rooms or areas of the library after thoseindividuals or organizations
